Our February 7th speakers will be District Attorney Birgit Fladager and Stanislaus County Superintendent Scott Kuykendall.
Scott Kuykendall – Biography.
Scott Kuykendall was elected Stanislaus County Superintendent of Schools in November 2018 and sworn into office on January 7, 2019. As Superintendent, he oversees the Stanislaus County Office of Education (SCOE) with a staff of 1,100 and a budget of over $261 million. SCOE provides direct instructional programs and supports services to the 25 school districts in Stanislaus County. This includes 188 schools and over 109,000 students. The office also provides regional programs and services in a seven-county area.
Birgit Fladager – Biography.
Ms. Fladager was elected District Attorney in June 2006 and was subsequently appointed as District Attorney on July 11, 2006
Ms. Fladager’s assignments within the Stanislaus County District Attorney’s Office have included the Crimes Against Children/Sexual Assault Unit, the Stanislaus Drug Enforcement Agency and Felony Trial Team. She was the first Deputy District Attorney to lead the Domestic Violence Unit. She was promoted to Chief Deputy in 1999. In that capacity, she supervised felony trial deputies and was responsible for the homicide on-call team.
